the body as a portal

We live in a world that often teaches us to disconnect from our bodies—numbing, pushing through, overriding signals in favor of productivity or performance. But the body is not an inconvenience to transcend; it is the gateway to our healing, our power, and our truth.

We hold multitudes within us:
Old stories, inherited patterns, ancestral echoes.
Joy that never had space to expand.
Grief that was never fully witnessed.
Wisdom waiting quietly beneath the noise.

Claire’s bodywork practice is rooted in presence, compassion, and deep listening—both to you and to the language of your body. Trained in Esalen Massage, her work combines long, flowing strokes with intentional pauses, therapeutic detail, and intuitive touch.

This work isn’t just about addressing sore muscles (though we absolutely do that too). It’s about tending to what’s often unseen: the weight we carry in our shoulders, the grief stored in our hips, the truth held in our bellies. Through compassionate, skillful touch, we allow the body to exhale, to speak, to remember. No two sessions are the same, because no two people carry the same story in their tissues.

You don’t need to show up a certain way. Just come as you are. We’ll begin there.

Claire is currently practicing at the scenic Longview Resort in Bryson City, North Carolina: an open-air, mountaintop experience. Call-out sessions are available case by case. Book your bodywork session at Longview here or reach out to Claire directly via email: hello@asterholistic.com.
